The Fifteenth and Final Summer Roundup Triathlon was held. Thanks for all the support and good times!

MAPS

  • SWIM

    The swim is in a private lake at Tong Farms. Swim will be wave starts for all races. Races will start standing in the water. The swim is clockwise, keeping buoys on your right. The Olympic is 2 loops (staying in the water) of its course. The Sprint is one loop of its course. The Super Sprint is one loop of its course. (all 3 courses are different) You may stop and rest during any portion of the swim by holding onto the watercraft that will be available but you may NOT make forward progress. The volunteers/lifeguards on the swim course have authority to pull you from the race/water if they feel like they need to for your safety.

  • BIKE

    Super Sprint, Duathlon, and Sprint is 1 loop, Olympic and AQ Bike is 2 loops. Counterclockwise. No drafting is allowed. You have 15 seconds to make your pass. When riding stay as far right whenever possible keeping in mind you and other riders safety. The course will be traffic controlled and there will be motorcyclists with draft marshals on the course to make sure you are following the rules. Recumbent and tandem bikes are not allowed. All bicycles must be self propelled. Helmets are required.

  • RUN

    Duathlon starts with out and back to first stop sign (1.5 miles) Run courses are out and back with the sprint doing one out and back and the olympic doing 2 out and backs. Please make sure your race bib is visible from the front at all times. There will be water stations available every mile.

Transition

Race Morning transition opens at 5:30 AM. Olympic and Aquabike will have one set of racks, supersprint, sprint, and duathlon will have another set. Boby marking will be available race morning. Only paid participants are allowed in transition, no exceptions. Transition will close when the pre-race meeting starts. There will be a mount/dismount line for the bicycle that you must observe. After the last racer has finished the bike course and headed out on the run the race director will announce you may remove your gear from the transition area.

Getting to Tong Farms (private property-not open to the public at any other time)

25-30 min travel time

Address to put into your phone: CR 180/Redbud Rd- Farm is just back to the east

Directions from I-44: travel east towards Springfield, exit onto I49 North: take the exit for Hwy M/baseline Blvd go 2 miles to CR 160 turn north/right go 1 mile to Redbud road turn west/left  and go about 1 mile.

Directions to race site from North Joplin: Take Main street /Hwy 43 north to M Hwy/Baseline road (15 miles) turn east onto baseline Rd/M Hwy and go 6 miles to CR 180. Turn north/left onto CR180 go 1 mile up to Redbud Road turn east/right. The Lake is a half mile down on the north/left side of the road, look for the parking signs directing you.

Weather contingency plans for Summer Roundup Triathlon

We will host the race under most weather conditions: rain or shine. Extreme conditions or unsafe weather (lighting, extreme temperatures, etc.) may warrant a cancellation or rescheduling of the event. This is at the discretion of the race director and will be made based on the safety of the racers, volunteers, and spectators. Every effort will be made to continue with the race. Modifications may be made to the event including but not limited to: delay of start, and/or cutting portions of the race (swim, bike, or run).

BENEFITING CHARITY: Steven Dean "Tink" Tong Scholarship Fund

A portion of race funds will go to the Steven "Tink" Tong scholarship fund at Jasper High School. These funds will help a graduating senior attend college in the fall.
