Rufus Racing, LLC Founded in January 2009
Hi, my name is Ruth Sawkins! :) Where did the name Rufus Racing come from? Rufus has been my nickname since college (however when I'm coaching the team prefers to call me Ruthless)
How did I get into this? The short and real answer is God prepared me for this, gave me the idea, and has blessed my work and to Him goes all the credit! I started racing triathlon in High School in 2000. Got married to my wonderful hubby Phillip Sawkins in 2003, graduated college in 2005, we had our first child in 2008. I wanted a way to be able to work from home so on January 11, 2009 I remember sitting on the floor in our living room with the laptop and used some of my Christmas money to register my business and buy my DBA- Rufus Racing, LLC was born! Over the next several years I would continue to grow Rufus Racing through events and the team while adding 2 more children to our family. What a wild ride it’s been! It’s been crazy hard but I’ve loved it and thankful to Jesus for the opportunity to do what I love!
My main passion is to introduce people to endurance sports. I know you can do this and I'm here to help you!

Rufus Racing, LLC is based in Joplin, MO and is an endurance sports event management company that produces high quality events in the fours state area. Rufus Racing also is home to an endurance sports racing team: triathlon, running, cycling, and other endurance sport events. Check out our team page if you are interested in joining us!
